WORKSHOP - SHAKESPEARE WITH DAKIN MATTHEWS

The Bridge Project is a major trans-Atlantic venture for director Sam Mendes (Academy Award winner for American Beauty), Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and The Old Vic in London, whose Artistic Director is Kevin Spacey. Sam Mendes directs The Winter’s Tale by William Shakespeare starring Simon Russell Beale, Sinead Cusack and Rebecca Hall from the UK; and Richard Easton, Josh Hamilton and Ethan Hawke from the US.

Lucky us being SRT students, we had a meet and greet session with Ethan Hawke followed by a Shakespeare workshop with Dakin Matthews. He is an American actor with a long history of work in film, television and theatre. He is also a playwright, director and theatrical scholar.



The class was a real eye-opener into the world of Shakespeare of which Nikko now has a new found understanding and appreciation for. Now she needs to be off to memorize another two audition-worthy Shakespeare scripts for future references.
