SCHOOL SHOWS - SINGAPORE SPORTS COUNCIL

The Singapore Youth Sports Development (SYSD) committee unveiled its plans to set up 26 satellite Centres - one for each sport that was featured at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The Satellite Centres for Sports Development is for all youths interested in sports but do not know where to sign up to participate.

As a host, Nikko has been roped as a presenter to encourage youths aged 6 to 16 to participate in their activities and is currently running schools shows at the various secondary schools. As part of her presentation, Nikko talks about how students can get involved in badminton, basketball, sailing, wrestling etc. Some of these sports already have the centres set up at various locations in Singapore and are running programmes. These progarammes range between 4 half-day sessions to 12 week curriculum depending on the sports.

The best thing about these progammes is that the individual would be able to play with friends, compete in a sport that may not be offered as an extra-curriculum activity in school while being guided by a certified coach. So why wait? Sign up now when Nikko visits your school during the roadshow! For more information, do check out their website at www.singaporesports.sg/scsd.
