"Nikko is also studying hospitality and tourism as a career backup to reassure her parents. But she knows the importance of following one’s heart: “There are a lot of brilliant starving artists out there but they still do what they do because of their love for theatre. “I admire them for that.”
The Article, Two Sides of a Coin writes:
NIKKO AW, 20, International Hotel and Tourism
Management, International Hotel Management Institute

Abigail Williams, the 17-year-old antagonist of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, is a strikingly beautiful but vicious girl who will stop at nothing to attain her demented goals – to the point of accusing respected members of society of witchcraft.
Her villainous nature is a problem for Nikko Aw, in playing her. Other than looks, the two have almost nothing in common. After all, Nikko describes herself as a “kind,
sweet-natured” girl – a far cry from someone whose middle name might as well be “Evil”.
To portray Abigail, at the graduation show for Singapore Repertory Theatre’s The Young Co, a two-year educational platform for 17- to 25-year-old stage artists, Nikko has to dig deep. The play runs from Aug 12 to 15 at the DBS Arts Centre.
She says: “I see her plight as pitiful. After all, she’s driven by the craving of being loved, and goes to extreme methods just to be loved by the person she loves.”
For her, understanding the motives behind evildoers shunned by all is part and parcel of theatre.
It is what she calls “getting into character” – something she has been honing for the last six years, ever since she was mesmerised by the performers of Mamma Mia!, a play she watched while on holiday in London at 14.
And she has big dreams for the future: “I aim to be an accomplished local theatre actress at or before the age of 25."
