Once again, Nikko participated as a patient for NUS DUKE to play a role of a sick individual as part of their doctor-patient simulation, this time for the student's exams. Each student was given 15-minutes to ask questions about the standardized patient role that Nikko undertook, Joey Lee to suss out information about her present illness.
With the flurry of medical jargon thrown about by the students, Nikko found it an interesting opportunity to learn more about the various medical terms. An example of one of the not so common terms include being hematopoietic (which refers to the medical conditions related to the blue such as anemia and easy bruising). She also had an insightful discussion with one of the lecturers while ticking off a check list to assess the student's 'performance'.
Nikko did not take any photographs of the procedure and does not think it would be appropriate to post up any anyways.
